Personal Budgets were introduced by the Government to ensure people have more choice and control over the services that support them. A Personal Budget is the amount of money which is identified to meet a person’s social care needs.

What can you spend your budget on? It is not easy to give a full list of what your Personal Budget can be spent on. This varies widely according to individual circumstances, and you may wish to use it for something that nobody else has considered. As a general guide you must be able to show that what you buy meets the outcomes and needs identified in your assessment and support plan.
