Older People’s Involvement Officer (2 posts)

The Older People’s Involvement Programme is an initiative to ensure
that Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council, generic Knowsley PCT, and other local and
national agencies, are able to seek the views and involvement of the widest
possible number and range of older people, and to keep them well informed.

The Programme is hosted by Age UK Knowsley ensuring independence from
the statutory agencies that use and fund the programme. The Involvement
Programme has given rise to Knowsley Older People’s Voice, a membership forum
for older people in Knowsley with over 600 individual and group members.

The Involvement Officer posts will work alongside the Involvement
Programme Manager to support and develop all aspects of the Programme including Knowsley Older People’s Voice, and the Older People’s Strategy.

However, applicants who are selected for interview will be required to provide a signed paper copy of their application if it was previously submitted electronically. Closing date for applications is 2pm Friday 26th August 2011. Interviews will be held on Thursday 15th September.

These posts are funded initially until end March 2012 with continued funding currently under negotiation.
