Cold Weather Payment

Cold Weather Payment 2014-15

You may be able to get a Cold Weather Payment if you receive certain benefits including:

 

  • Pension Credit
  • Income Support
  • income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Universal CreditCold Weather Payments are linked to the weather experienced over the winter in your area. Payments are made when your local temperature is either recorded as, information pills buy cialis or forecast to be, prescription order an average of zero degrees Celsius or below over 7 consecutive days. For the current winter the Cold Weather Payment scheme runs from 1 November 2014 to 31 March 2015.

    You’ll get a payment of £25 for each 7 day period of very cold weather between these dates. After each period of very cold weather in your area, click you should get a payment within 14 working days. It’s paid into the same bank or building society account as your benefit payments. Cold Weather Payments don’t affect other benefits you may be getting.

    How to claim a Cold Weather Payment

    You don’t need to apply. If you’re eligible to get a Cold Weather Payment, you’ll be paid it automatically.

    If you don’t receive your Cold Weather Payment

    Tell your local pension centre if you think you should have received a Cold Weather Payment but you haven’t had one.
