Knowsley Older People's Voice

Pedal Away

Pedal Away is a cycling initiative based in Halewood, treatment offering a variety of bike rides throughout the borough of Knowsley. Whether you’ve been a regular cyclist in the past, or wish to learn to ride a bike for the first time, there’s something for everyone. There are a number of sessions planned in 2011 which will offer you the opportunity to keep active, have fun and to socialise with others. All bikes and helmets are free to use.

Pedal Away delivers several initiatives to promote cycling as widely as possible to Knowsley residents:

Community Rides are instructor-led bike rides open to all ages and abilities. There are rides beginning from Halewood, Huyton, Whiston, Kirkby, and Knowsley Village.

Health on Wheels uses cycling as agateway to a healthier, more active lifestyle. It is ideal for anyone recovering from injury or ill health, and a great way to keep fit.

Wheels for All provides a wide range of adapted cycles perfectly suited to those with a disability or special need.

Pink Pedals provides instructor-led, ladies only sessions.
