Knowsley Older People's Voice

Accessible toilets are vital to many disabled people who often do not have a choice about where they can go to the toilet. The Royal Association for Disability and Rehabilitation (RADAR) supplies RADAR keys which provide independent access to around 7, approved prescription 000 locked public toilets around the country for disabled people.

People who most frequently benefit from having RADAR keys are:

  • wheelchair users
  • blind or visually impaired people with guide dogs
  • people with a carer
  • people with dementia who cannot be on their own.

RADAR makes no profit in supplying keys but needs to make a small charge to cover the costs of supply.  In Knowsley, buy RADAR keys are available from any of the One Stop Shops. You will need to provide proof of identity and evidence of your disability. Cost of the keys is £4.11 inc. VAT (although VAT is not chargeable if you are able to demonstrate your disability by receipt of DLA or similar). Alternatively, keys can be ordered direct from RADAR
