Mood Boosting Books

Look out in all Knowsley Libraries for a collection of Mood Boosting Books. This scheme is a national promotion of uplifting titles, treatment recommended by readers and reading groups around the country and range from novels and non-fiction to poetry and graphic novels. There are also titles which are suitable for less confident readers.

Mood Boosting Books help people feel better by giving them recommended books to read when they are feeling anxious or depressed.

Research shows that reading improves mental well-being, medicine and reduces stress levels by 67%. Our Mood Boosting Books scheme aims to help people feel better by recommending uplifting books – because everything changes when we read.
