Knowsley Centre for Independent Living

The Centre for Independent Living (CIL) is designed as a one stop shop for health and disability issues in Knowsley. The CIL opened in April 2011 bringing together a range of related services under one roof to help people with disabilities or mobility issues live more independently.

The CIL is open 5 days a week (Mon -Fri) with access by appointment only on Saturdays, and is home to a wide range of services including:

With its open plan showroom, there is a range of equipment on display that people can drop in and try out, such as stair lifts, chairs, beds, mobility, bathing and toilet aids.

The CIL is a partnership between the Voluntary Sector, Knowsley Council, NHS Knowsley, and Knowsley Housing Trust. It has also been developed with Knowsley User Led Organisation (ULO) making sure that local service users have a say in how services are delivered.
