Worried About Money?

If you are worried about money or debt there are some simple actions you can follow to prevent things getting worse, recipe and a range of agencies locally and nationally who can help.


  • Don’t ignore the problem
  • Arrange for a benefits check – if you receive the state pension you may be entitled to additional payments such as Pension Credit or Attendance Allowance
  • Check all your options before you borrow money to pay debts
  • Pay your priority debts first (rent, viagra mortgage, council tax, gas / electricity)
  • Contact everyone you owe and try to arrange to pay a smaller amount that you can afford
  • Keep copies of letters or forms you fill in or receive
